Minecraft HUD Guide: CPS, Keystrokes, Armor, Potions and Coordinates

Learn how a focused Minecraft HUD can make important game information easier to read, with CPS, keystrokes, armor durability, potion effects, and coordinates.

A good Minecraft HUD should answer useful questions without taking your attention away from the game. When you are moving through a world or playing PvP, small pieces of information can matter: which keys are being pressed, how quickly you are clicking, whether an armor piece is close to breaking, and how much time remains on an effect.

What is a Minecraft HUD?

HUD means heads-up display: the on-screen information that remains available while you play. A thoughtful layout keeps the most relevant information easy to read and avoids filling the screen with elements you rarely use. The best setup is personal: survival players may value coordinates and potion effects, while PvP players may prefer keystrokes, CPS, and armor status.

Useful HUD modules in Dreamy Client

CPS Display: CPS means clicks per second. A display can show click activity for the left mouse button, right mouse button, or both, depending on the selected layout. It is an information tool—not an auto-clicker.

Keystrokes: See movement keys and other configured inputs while playing. It can help you review movement timing and understand which input is currently active.

Armor HUD: Keep an eye on equipped armor and its remaining durability so you can plan a replacement before a piece breaks.

Potion Effects: See active status effects and their remaining duration without repeatedly opening the inventory.

Coordinates: Keep your position and facing direction visible while exploring, navigating, or returning to a saved location.

Movement tools: Toggle Sprint, Toggle Sneak, and Freelook provide additional control options for movement and camera awareness.

Build a HUD for the way you play

Start with the information you check most often. If you spend time exploring, place coordinates and active effects where they are easy to glance at. If you play competitive modes, keystrokes, CPS, and armor durability may be more useful. Keep the layout balanced: the center of the screen should remain clear for aiming, movement, and reading the world.

Four simple HUD setup tips

Prioritize: enable only the indicators that help you make decisions during a match or exploration session.

Keep visual hierarchy: use consistent sizing and spacing so the most important values are quick to identify.

Avoid overlap: leave room around the crosshair, hotbar, chat, and other game elements.

Review in-game: a layout that looks good in a menu may feel different during movement. Check it in a real world and adjust your preferences.

Information that supports better decisions

A HUD does not play the game for you. It reduces the need to open menus for routine information, helping you stay focused on movement, timing, and the next decision. Clear indicators are especially useful when a few seconds can change the outcome of a fight or when you are managing resources during a long exploration trip.
